Photo Finish: A night of rugby, records, and women breaking barriers.
On Thursday evening, 19 September 2024, I had the privilege of photographing the South Africa vs Spain women’s rugby match at the iconic DHL Stadium in Cape Town. It was a moment I had long dreamed of — standing fieldside, camera in hand, ready to capture the electric energy of this thrilling encounter. In a field traditionally dominated by men, being one of the three female photographers there made the experience even more special.

Electric City: Photographing Cape Town’s First E-Prix

The inaugural Cape Town E-Prix brought the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship to South Africa for the first time—and placed the city firmly on the international motorsport stage. The setting could hardly have been more Cape Town. The 2.921-kilometre street circuit wound around the DHL Stadium precinct, with Signal Hill, Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean forming a dramatic backdrop.
